Christopher Sackeyfio serves as a Director at MAPLE Consult. He began his professional
journey with the firm as a Junior Consultant, steadily rising through the ranks due to his dedication, technical expertise, and leadership capabilities. He holds a first class degree in Development Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (2009) and a masters’ degree in International Development from the University of Bristol (2013).
A member of the Ghana Institute of Planners, he also possesses certificates in Multi-level Water Governance from The Hague Academy of Local Governance and Certificate of Participation in System Tools for Assessment and Response (STAR) Framework organised by Stanford University, USA. He is a Development Planner with particular interests in policy analysis, decentralised development planning, local governance, budgeting systems, research and service delivery in WASH.
Chris has within a relatively short period of time been involved in a number of assignments. These range from being the Resident Programme Manager for the Local Government Capacity Programme funded by Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ‘Technical Assistance to Engage Beneficiary Metropolitan and Municipal Assemblies on Public Private Partnerships’ under the Ghana Netherlands WASH Project, UNICEF-funded “Urban WASH Baseline Survey in Ho, Ashaiman and Tamale”, the “Sanitation Challenge for Ghana” (Ideas To Impact), “WASH Sector Equity Analyses for Ghana”, Revision of the Rural Sanitation Model and Strategy (2020 – 2023) and most recently the Review of the 2007 National Water Policy, among others. Chris has taken part in a number of district performance programmes either from the earlier Functional Organisational Assessment Tool or the current assessment of MMDAs using the District Performance Assessment Tool in many districts in almost all the regions of Ghana. He has also been involved in the annual independent verification assessment of beneficiary implementing agencies under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme.
Mr. Sackeyfio has participated and presented papers in a couple of global water and sanitation conferences such as the World Water Week in Sweden and WEDC conferences held in Ghana and Kenya.
His strengths lie in his meticulous attention to detail, project conceptualization and design, proposal writing, research methodology, interfacing with officials from government institutions, NGO, community/local to the international levels, project co-ordination, monitoring and evaluation and report writing.
